FAQs
How are soaps made?
Our soaps are handmade using the traditional "cold" saponification method. This process is based exclusively on the chemical reaction between vegetable fats, sodium hydroxide and water.
Sodium hydroxide? No need to worry! When you buy natural soap, it is free of sodium hydroxide, as this compound is completely used up during saponification, which takes about 48 hours. Although natural soap can be used safely after this time, we only release it to the market after a thorough maturation of at least five weeks .
Natural soap is particularly rich in glycerin, an ingredient known for its soothing and protective properties for the skin barrier. Choosing a natural soap instead of a commercial body wash or bar soap ensures a gentle cleansing and keeps the skin hydrated.
It is important to note that many commercially available liquid and solid soaps are actually detergents. These contain chemical surfactants and other substances that can strip away the skin's natural protective lipid layer.
What ingredients are soaps made from?
All our soaps are formulated exclusively with plant-based ingredients. We support ethical production and do not use raw materials of animal origin. Our formulas include olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil (sourced only from RSPO certified sustainable agriculture), avocado oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, sunflower oil and mango butter. The colours are obtained using mineral dyes, while the fragrances are derived from a combination of essential oils, extracts, synthetic fragrances and resins.
Does my soap look a little different than what is shown on the site? Why?
Our soaps are handcrafted, which means that each piece is unique and unrepeatable. The image on the site represents only one of the countless aesthetic variations that the soap can take during the creation process. However, we guarantee that the declared ingredients will remain unchanged and that the product will have a similar appearance to the one ordered.
How long does my soap last?
The lifespan of soap depends on daily use and application method. For example, if you prefer to rub the soap on a sponge before using it, it may last less than if you apply it directly to the skin. On average, soap has a longevity of about 3-4 weeks. We recommend placing it on a dry surface after each use or using grid or magnetic soap holders to help the water drain properly. This will help prolong its lifespan.
The scent of my soap doesn't last long on my skin. Why?
This is due to our choice to exclude phthalates from fragrances, which are often used as fixatives in perfumes to prolong their duration. Being derived from petroleum, phthalates have a significant environmental impact and can be harmful to health, therefore we do not want them on our/your skin.
The fragrance of the soap will accompany your cleansing ritual and will be felt on the skin for a short time after drying.
Can I customize my soap?
Absolutely! With a minimum order and a variable waiting time, we can customize the packaging and stamping of your soaps. Whether you want to use them for a special event (wedding, baptism, first communion, graduation, etc.) or simply add a personal touch to your gifts, do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
